Very good
No, I don't think they are
Food was great, I'll definitely will be coming back here.
Really good food. Service was excellent.
Rude tonight. I don't care how busy a business can get, but they need to take more time on caring about their costumers.
They told me my order would be ready in 15 minutes for 2 plates, I came in 20 and im still outside in the parking lot waiting 45 min later in front of supercuts, I called and spoke someone rude and she said " we have to many order" and hung up on me. Its been 10 min since I started this review and were still waiting... Never Again!
The food and service are great. However they will nickel-and-dime you to death, a $0.50 charge for the tiniest little cup of sweet and sour sauce and a $1.50 charge for each substitution. My #2 combination dinner started at less than $12 and ended up costing me about $20 with tax, "subs' and extra sauce.(BTW, I didn't have a ridiculously complicated order or anyting either.)However, when I'm really craving Chinese food, I'm still going to Shanghai because the food is delicious!
We went 2X within 1 week and both times we weren't disappointed. Their orange chicken is a lot different from most places, but it tastes more real and is delicious. Also, they recommend the sesame chicken. You can also make the orange chicken spicy. They have good egg drop soup. Their fried rice and chowmein are right on the money in terms of the high ratings this place has! Will definitely go again
My Mongolian beef wasn’t spicy and was borderline too fatty, the fried rice well I could’ve made better fried rice. Place is too hyped, all the Chinese restaurants lack somewhere in this city. It’s not worth me driving all the way across town for. 🤷🏾♀️
The food and service were ahead of our expectations. I truly enjoyed the environment of this restaurant. Excellent place to take the family out for lunch.
Sizzling rice soup is the best. Salt & pepper fish & fried rice are also great. Good prices & good portions. A lot of good food here.
The food was amazing... Sizzling rice soup was delicious.
The Chinese chicken salad, cream cheese wontons, bbq pork fried rice and sesame chicken are a few if our favorites. I love this place, great portions. Nice and friendly staff! Also, they have awesome hot mustard here..ask for some and bliss out dipping and getting seriously heated. 🙌
Delicious as always. Barbecued pork with snow peas was yummy!!
Good food, salt & pepper fish was over cooked
We really like the food here at Shanghai, I understand they are closed the month of March for the Coronavirus shutdown that President Trump ask people to stay in for a few weeks. Once this is over we will be ready to go back to Shanghai for another great meal and friendly service.
As a military family, we've lived all over the country and have enjoyed our fair share of Chinese food. We visited Shanghai restaurant during our most recent move, after spending the day in Sequoia National Park. It was, without question, the best Chinese food we've ever had!! Absolutely delicious, enormous portions, friendly staff. Definitely worth the stop if you're in the area!
I ordered the walnut shrimp and chow mein. It was so fresh and tasty, I thought about it all week and went back tonight to order it again! Just as fresh and tasty as the first time. Not a lot of seating so if you're in a hurry, call in your order for take out.
New star Chinese restaurant is much better. Their portions are so much better and the food is much tastier. The portions here are very small. I was not very pleased with the service either. The lady in the front looked at me weird when I asked for paste.
The best Chinese food you can get in Visalia! The owner always remember our order, even if it's been a while since we've eaten here. They're sesame chicken is incredible!
Great local Chinese! We really like this place.
Food to go, always good. Eat often
Nice place but small. The sweet & sour pork was a little different then I've had other places yet was still delicious. The staff was friendly & helpful. I'll definitely be back.
Great food. Tried the Mongolian beef. The soup that comes with the lunch special taste really good. The place is not that big. But if you come early you should be able to find seating immediately.
One of my most favorite places to eat at. Great food. Wonderful service. If you have never eaten here please try your favorite food and see if it meets your expectations. Be safe and be well.
Surprisingly good, fresh Chinese food that's to die for. This place is busy on Friday and Saturday evenings. I love the fried rice, won ton soup, pot stickers, Mongolian beef dish, orange chicken, shall I go on..
Always good food and friendly service.
Extremely good but expensive. Also it's a relatively small place and they often have very noisy customers.
Great potstickers and family dinner
It's a small place but the service and food is good. I really like the sweet and sour pork very good. Very friendly people too.
Fresh food.
Awesome food, helpful staff members, constantly fantastic atmosphere. They charge reasonable pricing and the food quality is fantastic. 5 stars.
Rude waitress, an american lady not sure if it's owner. Not family friendly in fact they don't have a place to change a baby's diaper, pretty much screamed at me infront of other customers. Good thing i had plenty of control not to make a scene.
Love this place! Authentic good Chinese food! The owner is a sweetheart. Been a customer here since they opened! They are hands down one of the 2 best Chinese restaurants in Visalia, and I also cook Chinese food!
Great place to eat Chinese food. The restaurant is a little small but worth going because of the tasty plates.
Outstanding. Best Chinese in Visalia. Try the calamari. It's prefect. Salt and pepper fish, Mongolian beef, all great. They also have a traditional Chinese menu! The technical skill of the chef was excellent. All of the dishes were prepared perfectly.
Seriously good. I come from SoCal where there are some great Chinese cuisine restaurants, some even fine dining. I’ve eaten at some prestigious places. This is by far the best Chinese dishes I have ever had. It was the first time trying this place on a whim. Extremely satisfied and will be returning every chance I get. Highly recommend the honey walnut shrimp and the Wor Bar specialty plate!!!
The Food Was Delicious And Good Price.
Me, My Daughter and my high school girlfriends got together there for some lunch Had a great time and enjoyed some delicious food.
Love the food and the customer service.. great place to eat for the family, what I like most about this place is that they play Christian music🎵🎵
My teriyaki chicken was burnt as hell the sauce was almost water and my broccoli was super undercooked
Awesome service! great proportions. Not oily and no MSG..
The food is great here and the prices are also very reasonable. The place is a bit small so it may be a little difficult to find seating
Gotta try the orange chicken! Everything was delicious 👌
Great atmoshpere! Very quaint and seemingly authentic. It's a very quiet place as well. Shanghai has a lot of dinner and lunch options and combination plates to keep you satisfied. The restrooms and tables were very clean and the resteraunt owners were very courteous! Will be coming back for some great Chinese!
Great food, price is comparable to other Chinese restaurants, but without the heavy greasy feeling while you eat. Highly recommend
Very good service, good combo dinner plate. Not too expensive.
Customer service went down and quality of food is terrible. I have been a regular for years and yet I get treated rudely. I will no longer support them.
Very unorganized after being closed for the pandemic. Was told 25 minutes I set my alarm and waited 25 minutes to go to the restaurant food was not ready. At least 20 people standing out in front of the restaurant. Waited another 40 minutes outside. Called and asked to speak with Judy the owner I was told she was to busy to come to the phone. Gave my name and asked them to cancel the order. Person taking orders was not wearing her mask correctly. I use to love Shanghai. I guess it’s time to find a new Chinese restaurant.
I really enjoyed my food and they play Spirit 88.9 FM in the restaurant. I will definitely be going back. I want to try other dishes.
Very delicious food and great prices. Authentic Chinese food. Great customer service. Very clean restaurant and great location. I truly enjoy eating at Shangai Restaurant.
